William Zachs.

William Zachs has lived in Edinburgh for over 30 years, where he lectures on book history, writes about 18th-century Scotland, and curates exhibitions. He is the author of The First John Murray and the Late Eighteenth-Century London Book Trade (1998) and Without Regard to Good Manners: A Biography of Gilbert Stuart, 1743-1786 (1992). In 2013, the University of Edinburgh awarded him an honorary Doctor of Letters for his contributions to book historical studies and book curation. He is a Fellow of the National Library of Scotland and an Honorary Fellow at the University of Edinburgh.
